{"id":600,"date":"2015-05-13T02:47:15","date_gmt":"2015-05-13T12:47:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.afeinbergphotography.com\/blog\/?p=600"},"modified":"2015-05-13T02:47:15","modified_gmt":"2015-05-13T12:47:15","slug":"poomaucanyon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.afeinbergphotography.com\/blog\/2015\/05\/poomaucanyon\/","title":{"rendered":"Po&#8217;oWow&#8230;an adventure in to Po&#8217;omau Canyon"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<br \/>\nWaimea Canyon on Kauai&#8217;s west side is still on of the more amazing things I&#8217;ve ever seen (even after all the travel I&#8217;ve been lucky enough to do).\u00a0 Not only is it so colorful and different than the rest of Kauai but it is also hides plenty of secrets in its many side canyons.\u00a0 Having not explored much in the 8 years I&#8217;ve been on island (not proud of that), I had the opportunity to go camp up in the mountains in a 4wd access area.\u00a0 The plan was to get up late afternoon and hike out to an overlook and then back to camp to work on some fire spinning photography.\u00a0 Of course we were a bit tardy getting up to our hike spot but still managed to get there before the sun had completely set.\u00a0 However, without any good cloud cover the real show would be the seductive twilight light.\u00a0\u00a0 There is something magical in that transition between light and dark.\u00a0 Where colors shift and the camera becomes a window in to being able to view what nature is offering us.\u00a0 Getting down to the overlook was an adventure that a goat would be proud of, but standing (securely) photographing this amazing view is why I was here.\u00a0 As the light dwindled I got the holler from above to start our trek back to the car before all light had faded and off we went.\u00a0 Back at camp, as the night went on the mist and light rain came in toward the end of dinner I was wondering if we would be able to get to try our fire spinning experiments.\u00a0 And as luck would have it nature decided to bless us with clear skies for a couple of hours around midnight.\u00a0 Hiking down these falls in the dark and with all our gear (and after some good solid campfire time) made it all the more interesting.\u00a0 Once down we were bathed in bright moonlight and a surreal hollywoodesque type landscape.\u00a0 Then the fun began&#8230;. \ud83d\ude42<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nEnjoy!<br \/>\naF<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n<figure id=\"attachment_602\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.afeinbergphotography.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/2015-05-04_162Pweb.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-602\" src=\"http:\/\/www.afeinbergphotography.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/2015-05-04_162Pweb-300x258.jpg\" alt=\"Twlight looking down Po'omau Canyon deep within Waimea Canyon on Kauai\" width=\"300\" height=\"258\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.afeinbergphotography.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/2015-05-04_162Pweb-300x258.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.afeinbergphotography.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/2015-05-04_162Pweb-700x601.jpg 700w, https:\/\/www.afeinbergphotography.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/2015-05-04_162Pweb-200x172.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.afeinbergphotography.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/2015-05-04_162Pweb.jpg 800w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">&#8220;Po&#8217;oWow I&#8221;
