{"id":49,"date":"2012-10-19T16:05:15","date_gmt":"2012-10-20T02:05:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.afeinbergphotography.com\/blog\/?p=49"},"modified":"2012-10-19T16:06:41","modified_gmt":"2012-10-20T02:06:41","slug":"eastern-sierra-a-study-in-light-and-color","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.afeinbergphotography.com\/blog\/2012\/10\/eastern-sierra-a-study-in-light-and-color\/","title":{"rendered":"Back from the Eastern Sierra&#8230;a study in light and color."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Aloha all!<br \/>\nSo I have just returned from the wonderfully diverse state of California again.\u00a0 This time, the focus was fall color.\u00a0 Having not seen autumn in approximately 6 years I was a bit deprived.\u00a0 Especially growing up in New York!\u00a0 Having the opportunity to get my lens on some amazing color was exciting.\u00a0 The game plan took me across Tioga pass, bypassing Yosemite this time (I know, not easy to do), and ending up in Lee Vining on the eastern side of the Sierra, along route 395.\u00a0 I had some general knowledge of the area as I explored a bit in August but now the seasons had turned and a new world takes shape.<br \/>\nOver the 4 days and nights I spent the main goal was to do nothing more than drive around, chase the light, and explore with my camera.\u00a0 In doing so it was obvious that capturing the uniqueness of the foliage would require the right light.\u00a0 One might say of course!\u00a0 That&#8217;s what photography is always about, however, the leaves were almost bipolar.\u00a0 When front lit the trees almost seemed dull.\u00a0 However.\u00a0 Put the sun behind the trees and BOOM!\u00a0 They came to life&#8230;glowing on the trees.\u00a0 This also meant I could shoot almost sun up to sun down because even midday (a time I almost always avoid), there were intimate compositions to shoot with the vibrant leaves.<br \/>\nThis particular image was a great combination of back-light and clouds.\u00a0 The sun, while technically behind and to the left of the trees, was momentarily obscured by some high clouds.\u00a0 Thus, rendering the seen in this soft bath of glowy light.\u00a0 As I looked around for a standout subject these few trees poking out among the rest caught my attention.\u00a0 Just as quickly as the cloud came it went and a new scene was sprung.<br \/>\nI&#8217;m quite excited to share the new images I was able to capture and be sure to stay tuned over the next few weeks!<br \/>\nThanks!<br \/>\naF<br \/>\n<figure id=\"attachment_51\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.afeinbergphotography.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/2012-10-13_491web.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-51\" title=\"Eastern Sierra Autumn I\" src=\"http:\/\/www.afeinbergphotography.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/2012-10-13_491web-204x300.jpg\" alt=\"Eastern Sierra Autumn I\" width=\"204\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.afeinbergphotography.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/2012-10-13_491web-204x300.jpg 204w, https:\/\/www.afeinbergphotography.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/2012-10-13_491web.jpg 467w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 204px) 100vw, 204px\" \/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Glowing Aspens along the Eastern Sierra.
