{"id":392,"date":"2014-01-08T11:24:39","date_gmt":"2014-01-08T21:24:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.afeinbergphotography.com\/blog\/?p=392"},"modified":"2014-01-08T11:36:38","modified_gmt":"2014-01-08T21:36:38","slug":"the-magic-of-snow-yosemite","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.afeinbergphotography.com\/blog\/2014\/01\/the-magic-of-snow-yosemite\/","title":{"rendered":"The Magic of Snow (Yosemite)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<br \/>\n&#8220;Pencil To Paper&#8221; (unreleased)<br \/>\nBack in March &#8217;13 I had the incredible opportunity of being near Yosemite National Park when the forecast called for an incoming storm.\u00a0 Knowing that 1) I dont live anywhere near Yosemite and 2) storms\/snow arent too common, I knew I only had one choice.\u00a0 Drive my rental Mustang (yea free upgrade) in to the valley floor and sleep in it overnight.\u00a0 As far as sleeping goes in cars&#8230;I&#8217;ve had better&#8230;<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nWaking up the next morning I was <em>stoked<\/em>.\u00a0 BIG fluffy flakes DUMPING down.\u00a0 The great white awesomeness that is snow.\u00a0 Now, two more things ran through my head 1) where the hell am I supposed to shoot?! and 2) why the f@#$ did I get a Mustang.\u00a0 Slapping myself awake I donned my winter clothes that I had packed and started driving around the valley scoping where I might want to go.\u00a0 Having been there before I had a cursory knowledge but still not much of a clue.\u00a0 I do know that I love trees.\u00a0 And I love solo trees.\u00a0 So when I remembered this big Oak which I spotted the summer before that popped back in to my mind.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nWalking in to the field I was gitty.\u00a0 I&#8217;m a ski bum.\u00a0 Snow is my favorite ever.\u00a0 (Yes I see the irony of living in Hawai&#8217;i).\u00a0 But since becoming a &#8216;photographer&#8217; I have yet to have such conditions.\u00a0 Luckily I had my small fold up umbrella with me and was able to hold that over the camera to protect it.\u00a0 Snow is such a unique precipitation.
