Not quite a seascape, not quite a landscape, these near water photographs contain large expanse of landscape but with the infite draw that is the sky. Kauai's amazing scenery helped inspire a majority of these images.

As I finally was able to leave the house after a day of flooding rains I was greated with an explosive sunset over Hanalei Bay. What a way to end the day!

While standing in a light rain the sun setting to the west was able to pop through the clouds just long enough to illuminate Salt Pond surreal colors. Just after this I had to take cover from the increasingly rain night.

Large waves and dramatic, fleeting light combine at a popular, but dangerous north shore Kauai location. Precautions had to be taken to make sure the large waves would not pose a hazard as I shot the photograph.

Perfect timing has to coordinate exactly with the right conditions to capture this photo. I feel lucky just to have watched the moon rise out of the clouds on this night. Lucky enough I also had my camera with me!

It's hard to describe a sunset such as this. I will however say that I was jumping around like a school boy as the sky erupted in front of my eyes. The flury of shooting resulted in a handful of stunning images. This is one of my favorites from the light show!

Looked up one afternoon to see a spectacular array of clouds and thought to myself where could I try and capture this!? Having spent a lot of time on the north shore of Kauai I decided to head down to the beach in front of the St. Regis Princeville. Arriving, finally, after descending seemingly infinite stairs I knew I had made the right decision.
